At Gold Garment, the journey of a garment begins not with threads, but with precise lines and measurements. For our client Jordan's Order #190, a charming short-sleeved polo for boys, this journey truly highlighted the artistry of pattern making. We transformed Jordan's vision of a dark teal green polo, playfully adorned with a repeating pattern of small white fish, into a tangible prototype, showcasing our meticulous garment sample development process.
Our pattern makers are the unsung heroes of garment prototyping. They take a 2D design – a flat sketch or digital file – and translate it into a three-dimensional reality. For this particular polo, the challenge lay in ensuring the playful fish pattern would lay perfectly across the contours of a child's garment, and that the classic polo collar would sit just right. This involves intricate calculations, understanding fabric behavior, and a deep knowledge of body mechanics to achieve that perfect drape and comfortable fit. Each seam, each dart, each curve is engineered to perfection, ensuring the final garment is as visually appealing as it is comfortable to wear.
The dark teal green pique knit fabric chosen for this polo provided a rich canvas. Our team meticulously crafted the pattern pieces to accommodate the repeating white fish motif, ensuring seamless alignment and visual harmony. The classic polo collar was shaped with precision, mirroring the main body's color and cut. The small embroidered logo on the left chest – a white tag with a black outline, featuring a bow and two tiny white fish – was also carefully considered during the pattern and initial sample phase to ensure its placement was optimal and its detail sharp.
The placket with its light-colored buttons, the simple hem on the sleeves and bottom, and the internal white label reading 'KIDS 120' are all details that our pattern makers account for from the very first draft. This systematic approach is what allows us to offer the complete journey: concept → design review → sample making → client approval → bulk production.
Through our rigorous sample approval process, Jordan reviewed and approved this prototype, confident that it met their exact specifications. This ensures that when we move to mass production at our Vietnam garment factory, every piece will be a perfect replica of the approved sample. We pride ourselves on combining skilled craftsmanship with competitive pricing, making us the ideal partner for your custom manufacturing needs.
