This project, a striking pair of black, high-waisted dress pants, presented a unique challenge that our skilled pattern makers embraced with precision engineering. This involves intricate calculations for dart placement, seam allowances, and the precise curvature of the leg to achieve that desired drape and flattering fit. Beyond the fundamental structure, the design details for these Dress Pants required meticulous attention. The prominent 2cm wide white stripe, running vertically down the outer seam of each leg, needed to be perfectly aligned and integrated, demanding absolute accuracy in the pattern. Similarly, the placement of the small, 5x5 cm white embroidered logo on the right leg, near the hem, was carefully considered to ensure it complemented the overall design without overpowering it. The five visible matte black buttons, forming a smart button-up front closure, were also factored into the pattern to ensure seamless integration and a polished finish.
The chosen polyester spandex blend fabric further informed our pattern-making approach, requiring us to account for its specific stretch and recovery properties.
