This project exemplifies our comprehensive garment sample development process, taking an initial concept and refining it into a production-ready design.
Daniel's original idea, presented as a sketch, envisioned a striking black, sleeveless sports bra. Our team immediately focused on translating this concept into a functional and aesthetically pleasing garment. The core of the design lies in its intricate details: thin, elastic criss-cross straps that create a sophisticated lattice pattern across the bust and elegantly continue to the back. Achieving this precise strap placement and ensuring comfortable, secure support was paramount. We worked closely with Daniel during the design review to confirm the deep V-neckline and the wide, supportive elasticated band at the hem, ensuring it complemented the overall silhouette.
Fabric selection was a critical decision. For this gym piece, we opted for a high-quality blend of polyester and spandex. This material choice ensures optimal stretch, breathability, and a comfortable, matte finish perfect for activewear. Matching the exact shade of black and ensuring the fabric's performance characteristics met Daniel's expectations were key parts of our initial prototyping phase. The final touch, a small, white logo tag featuring a stylized 'M' or 'W' symbol—a 2.5cm rubber application on the center back hem—was carefully placed to maintain the garment's sleek aesthetic.
