It began with a simple sketch, a spark of an idea for a pair of black sweatpants that demanded both comfort and contemporary style. The Design Process: Crafting jimmy's Signature Sweatpants
The core of this project was understanding the desired silhouette. jimmy envisioned a relaxed, wide-leg fit – a modern take on classic loungewear. We meticulously analyzed the proportions, ensuring the drape and flow would be exactly as intended. For fabric, a mid-weight cotton blend, likely a loopback jersey, was selected to provide that sought-after soft hand-feel and structure, perfect for everyday wear.
Color matching was straightforward, with a deep, solid black chosen for its versatility and timeless appeal. The details, however, are where a prototype truly shines. We implemented a wide, elasticated waistband, complete with a sturdy black cotton drawstring for adjustable comfort. Functionality was key for the pockets: two side pockets were incorporated, with a premium black YKK zipper closure on the left side adding a touch of premium detail and security. The right pocket was designed as a classic welt for a clean finish.
A subtle yet impactful element was the small embroidered logo on the left thigh. We precisely replicated the 'PHASEME' text in crisp white, ensuring the branding was both visible and elegantly understated, perfectly complementing the garment's overall aesthetic. The hem was kept clean and simply finished, allowing the relaxed silhouette to speak for itself.
