This wasn't just about creating a sock; it was about mastering the nuances of knitwear and precision printing. The design called for a classic white crew sock, a seemingly simple canvas that demands meticulous execution. Our skilled artisans leveraged their deep understanding of yarn behavior and knitting machines to achieve the desired ribbed texture throughout the sock's main body and the 4cm top cuff. This consistent ribbing is crucial for both aesthetics and fit, ensuring the sock stays comfortably in place.
The technical challenge escalated with the application of Gauthier's unique branding. A sharp black "F" logo, precisely positioned near the ankle, required careful alignment on the knitted fabric. Even more detailed was the black "FYRGE" print on the sole. This area, subject to friction, demands specific printing techniques to ensure durability and clarity. Our team employed specialized methods to guarantee the print withstands wear while maintaining its crispness, a testament to our commitment to quality in every detail.
The material composition itself – 65% Polyamide, 30% Coolmax, and 5% Elastane – presented another layer of craftsmanship. Working with Coolmax fibers, known for their moisture-wicking properties, requires a delicate touch to preserve their performance benefits. The Elastane ensures the necessary stretch and recovery, vital for a comfortable fit measured at approximately 20cm from cuff to heel and a 27cm sole length.
